SOMETIMES IT SNOWS IN APRIL

Life is Just a Party and Parties Weren’t Meant to Last

Prince Rogers Nelson has died.

Growing up in the 80s, Prince, along with Michael Jackson, Madonna, The Police, Duran Duran, Bon Jovi, Iron Maiden and Journey, were the soundtrack of my life. I didn’t know it until much later, but he was one of the most talented guitar players who every lived. Everybody is posting it to social media, but just watch him blow the doors off of Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne as he wails on a magical guitar solo during While My Guitar Gently Weeps. I’m pretty sure he threw the guitar to heaven at the end.

Need more? Of course you do. Watch the Super Bowl performance of Purple Rain in the pouring rain. So many tributes… The Ringer devoted a whole newsletter to Prince. Adam Levine and Train wail on Purple Rain. You know there’s gonna be more.

Like David Bowie before, Prince reminded us that it was not just okay to be weird or odd, but that it’s incredibly cool to be different. And sexy.
