So, there’s going to be a Han Solo film coming out in 2018. It’s going to be essentially a prequel with Alden Ehrenreich playing the scruffy-looking nerfherder at a much younger age than when we saw him first in the Mos Eisely cantina in Star Wars A New Hope.
I know Lawrence Kasdan, who wrote two of the three original Star Wars films, as well as last year’s The Force Awakens, is writing this movie, but honestly I don’t care. Does anyone really need a movie telling them how Han met Chewbacca, how they won the Millennium Falcon, how he started working for Jabba the Hutt, and the like?
Sure it’s going to make a couple of metric tons of cash and it may even be a fun time at the movies, but we don’t need and I kinda don’t want it.
Your mileage may vary.
