The only thing that truly matters in any election for the Presidency of the United States is the Electoral Map.
From now until November, you’re probably going to be seeing a map that looks mostly like this. It is misleading because it prioritizes geographic accuracy over electoral importance. The New York Times designed this cool looking alternative that makes much better sense visually.
Each state is represented by a square and each square is proportional to the number of its electoral votes. Plus, the squares are arranged geographically, so you can still find your state. Vox has a pretty great video explaining the whole thing.
