ICONIC

What an Enterprise

Growing up, I was lucky enough to visit the Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC. One of the unexpected highlights was seeing the USS Enterprise model used in the original Star Trek TV series hanging along with the 1903 Wright Flyer, Charles Lindbergh’s Spirit of St. Louis, and the Apollo 11 Command Module Columbia.

Recently, the Smithsonian spent almost two years restoring the USS Enterprise model. The entire process is wonderfully detailed in this new behind-the-scenes look at the restoration.
