We, the NFL, condemn racism and the systematic oppression of Black People. We, the NFL, admit we were wrong for not listening to NFL players earlier and encourage all to speak out and peacefully protest. We, the NFL, believe Black Lives Matter. #InspireChange pic.twitter.com/ENWQP8A0sv

When I first heard about this apology from Roger Goodell I was floored. Here was a man who was on the wrong side of history and was seemingly doubling and tripling down on that belief. You could say this move is too little, too late. Maybe you don’t accept this apology. At the very least, Colin Kaepernick deserves better. I think this is progress.
So, here we are. The NFL said they were wrong. What will that first game look like when players peacefully protest when the national anthem is being played? I hope it’s a reflection of the progress made.
