I was born at an early age. As a baby, I was rocketed to Earth in the hopes I would gain powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal man. So far, not so good. Most days I’m a professional copywriter, author, essayist, husband, father, and scrambled eggs maker.

In my diverse and varied career, I’ve excelled as a national magazine editor and writer, ad agency copy monkey, speech teacher, web content writer and designer, and burger flipper. I have more than 25 years of marketing and promotional experience including managing events, writing advertising copy, creating websites, and showing college kids how to speak in front of an audience.

Today, I work at Horizon Hobby as a Senior Copywriter. Additionally, I write articles for the University of Illinois Fighting Illini.

A couple of my favorite articles I’ve written include my ode to umpiring, “Umpin’ Ain’t Easy,” my take on the mysteries of the new Star Wars trilogy, “Opening the Mystery Box,” a note on kindness, “Be Kind,” and my piece on University of Illinois basketball player Andres Feliz, “Andres Feliz Scoring Life Opportunities.” I continue to write long form on Medium and for Fighting Illini.

The Beautiful Kill was self-published in 2009 in time for the San Diego Comic Con. Goodnight Princess was self-published in 2014, although the story had been around for a long time before that as a bed time story I would tell my daughter. Captured Ghosts is set to be completed in 2019 and available for purchase later in the year. It’s the culmination of a lot of fiction and non-fiction writing that I’ve done over the years.

I pin images on Pinterest, curate playlists on Spotify, tweet on Twitter, make wish lists on Amazon, and infrequently post videos on YouTube.

My home is in East Central Illinois where I live with my amazing and talented wife and three incredible girls, marvel at my collection of original artwork, cheer on the St. Louis Cardinals, root for University of Illinois athletics, and continue to look for the next big adventure.
